Full Moon blessings and Gratitude
2013
The year of the Watersnake.
From an astrological wiev this is the time to heal, forgive and release.
And Monday Feb 25th we have an illuminating Full Moon in Virgo.
I read these beautiful words on this blog the other day:
"The Virgo Full Moon is showing us that acceptance heals our heart. Accepting the choices other people make will free us. We will feel lighter. We will feel better. For instance, when we release our need to fix, save and rescue others. Accepting the choices that others make allows them to learn from their experience.”
Back from Tulum Mexico.
The days in Norway are a tiny bit longer and the temperature a little higher.
I feel so grateful. It is easier to be in contact with gratitude when we forgive, heal and release.
It is time to face the sun. Go out in nature. Touch the earth.
Go inside and ask yourself what am I really grateful for.
Mother Nature is forever calling me home,
She speaks through the crystals, stones, and bones,
If I can be still and turn off my phone,
I will see that I am never really alone.

Clarity
Almost the end of Januay 2013.....
Still wiping dust of the mirror of 2012?
Full Moon hangover?
And I don`t mean the hangover which comes from a this kind of full moon party.
More the hangover from how the moon and the planets affects us.
If you are interested to dive deeper into that,
I suggest you to listen to someone who loves the Universe like Tom K Lescher.
I really enjoy listening to his astro forecasts which he presents in a quirky and honest way.
(Perfect to enjoy lying on a yogabolster covered in blankets :))
What does it mean to make space for YOU in your life?
To really be clear about what`s good for you.
What do you need to get to that space of clarity?
LISTEN to your heart.
Meditate, take walks in nature, log off, take solitude...
whatever is good for you and go inside for exploration.
Before you totally can embrace that distinct space inside, you have to figure out if you’re stuck in some areas in your life. Sounds kind of basic but not.
Sometimes we carry around that restless feeling who keeps us from being true to ourselves.
Take a lot of quiet time to reflect and contemplate.
Continue listening and take time every day to fully appreciate yourself.
What are my needs?
Embrace your fear. Make peace with her. Over and over again.
Change is scary.
Don`t wait until the right moment. Be honest to yourself. Speak the truth. Jump.
It’s uncomfortable....
Saying no, letting go of things and people that don`t serve you anymore can be sad and scary.
We tend to cling to what we know. Safety is survival.
Stay with peeps who support you. Who are comforting to be with.
Who accept and love you with all that you are. Inside out!
Gift them with your truth and vulnerability.
Share.
Share and give to the people who recieves with an open heart.
And to the ones who`s not.
I leave you with this:
The more you know who you are, and what you want, the less you let things upset you.

Guru Purnima गुरु पूर्णिमा
Oct 29th and a powerful full moon. In sanskrit Guru Purnima.
The word guru is coming from two words, 'Gu' and 'Ru' .
The Sanskrit root "Gu" means darkness or ignorance.
"Ru" represents the remover of that darkness. Light.
Therefore one who removes darkness of our ignorance is called a Guru.
The Full Moon brings light to the dark.
It helps us transform and see what we can change.
This is a good time of cleansing and healing.
Invite this illuminating full moon to transform darkness into light and fear into love.
And contemplate about:

Lunar eye candy ☾
This Saturday evening, the Moon will seem a bit larger and a whole lot brighter - it is called the
"super full Moon." Super full Moons occur whenever the Moon's perigee period — the time when it is closest to our home planet — coincides with the middle of its lunar cycle. It's a rare occasion that only occurs about once every 18 years according to NASA.
NASA says the Moon should appear approximately 14% larger to us earthlings, and as it will be a full moon at the same time, it will appear to be mighty bright. The optimal time for super full Moon spotting is just after it clears the horizon on Saturday evening, so maybe we can enjoy some lunar beauty, pending a clear line of sight, of course.

The Invitation
For you on this fullmoon day - like a whispering of truth.
It is like glitter around my heart.
It doesn’t interest me what you do for living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shrivelled and closed from fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with JOY, mine or your own; if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, be realistic or to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me is true.
I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul. I want to know if you can be faithful and therefore be trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see beauty even when it is not pretty everyday, and if you can source your life on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the moon.
It doesn’t interest me to know where you live of how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up after a night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone and do what needs to be done for the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the centre of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.

Full Moon today.
For me, the days around full moon are usually good days for creativity and to get things done if Im in balance.
My practice are at the peak. To slow down a bit, I do a more cooling practice.
If I have been traveling - like now - I need more rest. Like restorative poses, meditation and again a cooling practice to slow things down.
Conserve and build more energy.
To turn inward and float with the universal waves, I like to practice Moon Salutations- Chandra Namaskar - instead of my regular Sun Salutations.
They allow us to honor the yin or feminine side of our energy, in contrast to the Sun Salutations, which are more yang, or masculine, in nature.
I`ve copied an article from YogaJournal about fullmoon and yoga practice.
"You may be familiar with the caution "Avoid practicing yoga on the full or new moon!" This tradition of observing "moon days" stems from the belief in the Ashtanga system that practicing at either extreme of the lunar cycle leaves you vulnerable to injury.
One theory is that because the body consists mainly of water, you are affected, like the ocean's tides, by the moon:
On full-moon days the pull of the moon is so strong that your prana (life force) moves upward, leaving you feeling headstrong and liable to push yourself beyond your limits; on new-moon days, the pull of the moon is so diminished that you find yourself lacking motivation.
The ultimate time to practice, then, is during the middle of the lunar cycle, when the moon is a half circle and your prana is balanced"
The diagram from Laura Cornell shows the sequence of Chandra Namaskar; 16 asanas that constitute the Yoga Moon Salutation.
